“Staycation!” began life as a collection of demos that grew into the debut album by Diesel Marine. This one man basement recording project is a post-surf sound track for an imaginary summer. From dusty retro beach jammers to pulsating minimalist miniatures it is an homage to reverb guitar instrumentals of the past present and future. Each track was recorded with overdubbed live instruments (except for one obvious drum machine). No loops no locking to the grid. These songs do their own thing. Originally recorded during the dreary spring and summer of 2020, remixed and resequenced summer 2022.
